ecently, CFO Studio held a
roundtable meeting of the Japan
U.S. Executives Networking
Group ( JUENG) at the Saddle Brook
Marriott in Saddle Brook, NJ. The purpose
was to bring together executives at the top
management levels at U.S. subsidiaries of
companies headquartered in Japan that
maintain a significant presence in the NJ,
NY, CT, and PA area so they could share
insights as to the unique challenges and
opportunities associated with cross-cultural
differences in their day-to-day business
dealings.
“I find it particularly rewarding to be an
American executive working in a com-
pany headquartered in Japan,” said David
Mudrick, president and CEO of Topcon
America Corporation. “The balance we have
found here at Topcon meshing the two very
distinct management styles has proven to be
quite successful. I believe both our Japanese
and American staffs realize there is much to
be learned from each other’s styles, and by
drawing on the positives of both, we have
created a very dynamic and positive culture
that benefits all of our stakeholders.”
